Push Ups (or press ups) are great because you can do them anywhere, inside or outside, AND you need no equipment AS you are using your own body weight to provide the resistance.
But you must focus on the quality, as much as the quantity.
What they are good for:
Upper body strength; chest; arms; shoulders
How to do a push up:
This is a classic exercise that is often done poorly or incorrectly, which can negate any benefit or, worse, cause injury
Learning to do this properly is important.
- Get down on all fours, placing your hands slightly wider than your shoulders.
- Straighten your arms and legs.
- Lower your body until your chest nearly touches the floor.
- Pause, then push yourself back up.
